Adjusting Line Height & Character Spacing

Follow

Follow the steps below to learn how to adjust line height & character spacing. This is a great way to polish up the way your text appears in your project.

Line Height

Adjusting the line height will either increase the gap between the lines you selected or decrease the gap.

First, select the text frame and highlight the lines you'd like to adjust. For this example we just have 2 lines selected, but multiple lines can be selected at once.

Notice: The line height is always above the line, so the first line in your text box never moves. This means you never have to select the first line (It doesn't hurt to select the first line like we do in the example, but it is unnecessary)

1. Click on the spacing icon
2. Drag the white dot to adjust the line height to the desired distance.

First, Highlight the text/characters you'd like to adjust

Notice: You can select an entire paragraph, a single word or even a few characters within a single word.

1. Click on the spacing icon

2. Drag the white dot to adjust the spacing to the desired distance.
